Tank's surprise good-for-him goodies!

Sorry guys, my original post was deleted when I tried to change the title from my phone a few days ago... Stupid thing...

Tank is my baby, anyone who reads this blog knows that.  He's a spoiled rotten little brat.  He rules my free time (which at the moment, is not very often).  Take today for example, I worked a double at the new job but had a 4.5 hour break.  What did I do with my break?  Drove the 30 minutes back home (after getting free lunch from the amazing boyfriend!), and took him to the park.  He had a blast, like usual.  What did I do when I got cut early tonight?  Went home and played with him for a few hours before leaving to cook dinner for the boyfriend.  Yes, he comes before my romantic aspirations.

On top of all that, he gets lots of treats.  Lots of them.  I'm pretty sure I spend more a month on treats than on his actual dog food.  Granted treats are expensive.  Don't get me wrong, he gets good food (the only kind I could find that keeps him from trying to eat all the grass in the dog park...), but it's relatively affordable.  Treat companies make bank though!  That's where it's at in the pet industry--treats and toys.  Lately the little shit has been getting fat with all the attention and rewards.

Recently, I found a brand called LeanTreats (available at VetDepot).  I was leery at first, considering the extremely low price and the claim of being good for them and good tasting.  From experience, healthy dog treats stink, are expensive, and not his favorite.  Don't get me wrong, he'll eat anything, but he does have his favorites.  But I thought they'd be worth a shot.

When I first opened them, I was happily surprised to notice that they didn't stink.  In fact, the have less smell than any of the treats I've bought, healthy or not.  So they passed the first test.  The big one was soon to follow.

I pulled them out of the pet cabinet to see how he'd respond.  Knowing it was treat time, he freaked like usual.  I handed him one, and he didn't hesitate.  I swear I almost lost a finger!!  After a bit, I tossed one up for him to catch.  He missed like usual but chased it down like it was going to escape.  The following days, his enthusiasm didn't deteriorate.

It's safe to say, he loves them.

The size is awesome too.  They're small enough to be used as training treats, but big enough to be just surprise goodies.  At 7 calories and 4-7% crude fat apiece, they're great to keep your dog from gaining weight from getting several treats a day (like Tank gets).

The 4-ounce bag was at first disheartening.  I wondered how in the world they would last more than a day or two.  But again, thanks to their size, they lasted quite awhile.  A week or so actually.  They also offer a line for large dogs, however, I'm not sure on the amount of calories or size difference in the treats.

Another plus is that they contain glucosamine and chondroitin for joint health, which is helpful for overweight or older dogs, as well as those larger breeds that are known to have joint issues.

I highly recommend heading over to VetDepot and picking up several bags of these.  And they have a line for cats, which if Sugar's reaction to the dog treats was any indication, they'll love them too.  You have nothing to lose, except for a few extra puppy pounds maybe!

Tank waiting impatiently for his LeanTreat.

What's New with you? Well, ya see this one time...

It has been a crazy month or so it seems.  I lost my job last month, but hey!  I found a new one and I start a week from today, which kicks ass, especially since it's at my favorite place.  Tank and I lost Cleo a few weeks ago, which has been hard on both of us but him the most.  We're learning how to deal with just the two of us: walks, dog park, just chillin' watching tv.  Thankfully, my friends are the best and have been my wall anytime I need it.

While I haven't been working, I have been staying busy.  I've been spending a lot of time with the girls and the new boy.  I've been trying to catch up on my reading, but that's difficult to do with a perpetual puppy in the house lol.  I've been taking a lot of pictures of everything when I can.

CC's 23rd birthday was earlier this month.  We went out to Jazzmo's in Bricktown.  If I could afford it, I'd eat there all the time.  It's cajun style cuisine.  Instead of opting for my usual of salmon or catfish, I went out on a limb and ordered chicken fried alligator.  It was good, but really didn't have a distinct flavor which was disappointing.  You know the old saying "It tastes like chicken"?   Yeah, well it did... The gator bites I nabbed from Trulock were great though!

CC, AE, and I at O'Connell's karaoke.  It's a tradition now.

CC's birthday at Jazzmo's.  Love that place!  She and I shared oysters, while everyone shared entrees lol.
Tank has been making so many new friends lately at the dog park.  Bestie has been taking her two dogs out with us, and he loves those girls!  Belle looks like a mini-me when she's next to him.  Today there was a beautiful great dane out.  Tank decided he wanted to play with him.  Poor Tank kept getting run over and trampled, so he settled for barking and running back and forth.
Tank at the dog park.  He loves little dogs.

Sometimes they can be a bit feisty though.

"Hey, whatcha doin?  I wanna play!"

"You're a bit bigger than me..."

Such a happy boy, I love him to pieces.
Yes, there is a new boy.  Well sorta.  Yeah, I don't know how to describe the situation at the moment.  I'm happy though, that's all that matters.  And Tank loves him, which is a must.  He seems to really like Tank too (again, a must).  When it's just Tank and I, he lays around, but when the boy is around he's hyper and crazy.  It's adorable.
Oddly enough, he latched onto the new boy quite quickly.

Yeah, he didn't like me taking this picture lol.
Other than that, I've been job hunting.  Successfully, I might add.  This was my celebration this evening.  After a drunken one the other night.  I almost turned in THAT GIRL that night, almost but not quite THANK GOD!!!  Bought some Cinderella heels (Pink and glittery) and danced all night lol.
SUSHI!!!  Bestie, my old roommate and I had dinner together tonight.  Our favorite food EVA!

I've been doing a lot of cooking too.  Sometime this week, I'm going to some random foreign food market in the metro with Logan.  I'm excited to try even more new things.  I'll even take pictures for you guys, not like you didn't expect that though.

Well, off to have a beer or two to end a pretty damn good day.  Happy Monday!!

Tank's Newest Experiment

Ever had an animal that likes to stare death straight in the eye and laugh?  Yeah I have one of those.  You've all met Tank.  If not, don't worry, this post will tell you almost everything you need to know about this sweet, headstrong, dumb puppy of mine.

So I'm sitting on my lunch at work, when I see a text from Matt.  It said something about Tank getting a hold of my camera case (camera is in my purse that is now out of his reach at night) and Matt's deodorant.  It also had a cryptic message about him possibly being really chill for a few days.  Knowing that there were allergy pills on the coffee table and that I had found an old bottle of muscle relaxers the day before and wasn't sure where I had left them that night.

Sure enough, the little shit had gotten a hold of the muscle relaxers.  Having no car (it's in desperate need of fixing right now), I had to sit at work and act like I wasn't having a panic attack.  Not only were those pills out of date, they were strong as hell.  I should have thrown them away, but with no doctor and a bad back I thought I would see if they would help even a lil.

Finally after 4 hours of going absolutely crazy, I got the chance to go call my vet.  The stupid ditzy girl they had recently hired answered the phone.  I gave her the name of the pills and asked what I should do.  She had no idea what they were.  Seriously?  For my back, they don't give you no name shit.  At least when I had a doctor she didn't.  After talking to her like a child, she told me to bring him in immediately.

How the hell was I supposed to do that?  Ask a coworker if I could borrow her car of course.  I rushed home to find a puppy who's pupils were so big I couldn't see the color in them and eyes more bloodshot than normal for this particular puppy.  He was acting fine, but Tank is my child.  I took him in.  And was told that they couldn't do anything for him and I'd have to take him to the AER that almost killed Roxi.

Uh, no.

I got my way.  The doctor gave him charcoal to absorb any of the pills that his stomach hadn't yet absorbed.

Little Man is doing fine now.  I was soooo worried though!!!  You have no idea.  He's my child.  I love that little shit.

Well I'm off to finish my beer and have a lil more fun tonight!

Love!!

On Fire!!!

What?  Yeah, that's right.  I'm on fire.  Physically (mostly from the crazy Oklahoma weather, but partly from working out).  Emotionally (not in the good way, things kinda suck but that's life).  And my blog apparently!!  In my unintended leave of absence from my lil corner of the blogosphere, my lovely bloggie bestie Sarcasm Goddess gave me an award.  She's pretty amazing and absolutely hilarious, you should check her out!  She's the one who really got me out of my shell on here and basically killed my habit of blushing when blogging about vaginas and the whatnot that goes along with them.  She gave me this award because I "pierce my body without fear" and because I'm almost as awesome as she is.

If you haven't looked through my blog, then you wouldn't know that I have 11 body piercings.  That's right, 11.  I plan to add to that number, but I'm not sure what I want next.  I'll have to do a future post with a poll in it possibly.

Anyway, things haven't really changed much around here.  The dogs are still being nutty.  Although, Tank did decide to go on a dog's version of a panty raid this morning when we opened the backdoor for them.  He went through BOTH of my purses that were out on the end table and decided that their contents needed to decorate the backyard.  My checkbook, ID, debit card, cash, lotion, camera, GPS, and random other things were strewn about, shredded if possible.  NOT how I wanted to wake up today...

After cleaning up the yard as best I could, still looking for my house key... I called my bank to report my card "lost or stolen".  Yes, I'm lazy and instead of going in I just called that number.  Here's how the beginning of that conversation went:

Lady: blahblahblah bank how may I help you?

Me: Um... I need to report my debit card... uh... eaten by my dog...

Lady: Seriously? *giggles*  That sounds kinda like the "dog ate my homework" excuse.

Me: No really, he chewed it up... It isn't usable now....

Lady: Oh.  Well I can.... blahblahblah

Do they really think I would make up something THAT ridiculous?!?!?!  Okay, yeah they can see all the weird ass places I use my card, but still.  Doesn't mean they know me!!

So dumbass I am, instead of seeing if I can still use my card, I get it cancelled and now have little to no access to my paycheck I got 24 hours ago... I wrote a check for a damn T-shirt tonight!!  It was worth it though, it was a Fangtasia T-shirt from True Blood (vamp obsession, remember?).  Oh and I got another one for half off that has female super heroes and says "We Run This Town."  Love it!  I also replaced the clutch Tank destroyed above.  It was red and black leopard print and is absolutely perfect to use for going out!

Yeah I think that's about the only real story I have from my LoA.  I'll have more things later as they unfold, but I don't want to drag on and on, so on to the award section!!!

So the rules for this are: thank who gave it to me, 7 factos, and 10 recipients.  I think we can do this.  As I said in the beginning, the wonderful and amazing Sarcasm Goddess gave me this prestigious award.  She is the embodiment of awesome-ness.

  1. This award makes me super happy because I am a pyro.  I love the flames on the picture.  However, when I saw a local apartment complex on fire today I almost vomited.  I know people who lived/still live there.  It was awful.  Two buildings completely destroyed... Cars on fire... One of my coworkers/friends is probably staying with me for awhile because of this.
  2. I have lost 10 more pounds since I started working out!  I'm down to 176 which is amazing!!  I can fit some of my old clothes.  Still a ways to go, but I'm happy with the progress.
  3. I believe in ghosts.  I've seen and felt ghosts.  I don't care how crazy that makes me sound, I know what I've experienced.
  4. My great great some-or-other great uncle was the guy who pulled Belle Starr (Oklahoma outlaw) out of the river when she was shot off her horse.  My great great some-or-other great grandmother was with her when she died.
  5. My phone is dumb.  It has decided that it will only charge in the warehouse at work or sometimes when plugged up to my computer unless I want to hold it up in the air for hours.  I really need to call the warranty people about it... I miss my iPhone4...
  6. I've come to realize that some of the people I've been really close to lately are starting to offend me.  They make snide remarks or blow off how I feel about things.  I'm not one to be walked all over or ignored.  Maybe they should read this... I've started avoiding them when I can, they don't even realize it.
  7. My job has really been the bright part of my days lately.  I love my customers; the crazy old men, flirty guys, loving women, grandmothers, cooks, nurses, all of them!  Most people would say it must suck that work is the bright part of my day, but since all I seem to do now is work (meh, it brings in the moneys... that I can't really get to right now...) it's good that it's a bright part.

And for my On Fire Blogs!

If I have to explain my reasoning for choosing these wonderful women, well, you don't know good blogging!  Haha, just kidding, but still they are all absolutely amazing!!

Off to bed to begin this long ass week of work, but first finishing Ghost Adventures with Zak Bagan... yumm...

Love!!

I'm gonna lay it all out there

I mean it.  Really.  Eventually.

Have you ever chased your dogs through the field behind your house because your fence was blown down by hurricane force winds even though you clearly live smack dab in the middle of a landlocked state?  I have!  The dogs decided to find their way into the backyard while Matt and I were bleaching the kitchen (this is another story all together).  Here's how that train of thought/adventure went for them:

Dogs: ooo! back door is open! (get into yard)

Roxi: I don't remember the yard being this big...

Tank: Imma chase my tail while laying on the ground!

Roxi: Let's go see what this is! (runs through gaping gape in fence)

Tank: Om nom nom tail.... Wait!  Where you goin???  Wait for me!!  (follows Roxi)

(Dogs run east to 24th SE)

Roxi: ah fooey!  This is a road... I wonder where the other way leads?

Tank: Om nom nom more tail... What's those things goin by real fast???  They look like they need chased!

Roxi: goin this way!!! (runs west)

Tank:  baaahhh wait for me!!! (ADD kicks in and he forgets about those things and follows Roxi)

Roxi:  I think daddy is yelling at me... I'm gonna keep runnin cause he's chasing me, game right?  (Matt histerically yelling, Allie huffing and puffing miles behind...)

Tank:  Roxi! Roxi! Rox (falls in hole) oop, gopher hole! {bonus points to who can name that movie!}

Roxi: Yep he's yelling my name... More room to run!  Daddy catch up!!

Tank: Here comes the dog, strong and brave - woof! Here comes the dog, your life he...
(falls into a hole) {name this one too!}

Roxi: Ahhh s#!*... I'm done, daddy's mad...

Tank: Why we stoppin???  Hey daddy!  Let's run!

Roxi: hey dumb@$$, we're in trouble...

Seriously, that is how it went.  They spent the greater part of the evening in time out, whilst Matt and I finished bleaching the kitchen and decluttering the living room.  I was dripping in sweat by the time we stopped, it was ridiculous the amount of cleaning our house needed.  I thought we did a decent job of keeping it, well, decent.  Apparently not...

Sadly, that isn't what I'm layin out there today... this is... my biggest insecurity for day 18 of my photo challenge.  This is actually quite hard for me to admit to, I'm a shallow person.  Sue me.  You can't say you aren't ever shallow.  You can?  Really?  I'm gonna show you a greek god and an average Joe.  Without knowing either of them at all, who would you choose without thinking?  The god.  Everyone would.  That's shallow, so there!  If you wouldn't, I think we may have just witnessed the second coming.

Here goes...

That my dear friends... is stretch marks... on my no longer at all toned tummy... or flab, whatever you wanna call it...

I used to be quite a bit smaller than I am now.  Moving to Norman ruined my figure (other than giving me nice gozongas).  I'm determined to get back to where I was fifty pounds ago.  Once I get paid again, I'm getting a gym membership to aid in my weight loss.  I know I've already lost a good chunk, but it's not good enough for me.  I wanna be able to keep up with Matt.  The boy has had back surgery for crying out loud!  I should be able to easily keep up with him even if I'm severely out of shape.  I've also been told it will help with my back pain to get back to my former size.

No more self loathing tonight!  I'm gonna go try to get my freak on haha.

And yes, Tank is pretty dumb and absent minded.  I know you got that, but I know there are a few people who won't catch it.  I love the cuddly thing, but he's dumb as a box of rocks.  He does actually lay on the floor and chase his tail at the same time for what seems like hours.  It's quite entertaining.  For both him and myself.

Hope you had a wonderful start to your week!

Love!!

Oh the joys of "motherhood"

Wanna see a cute picture?  Of course you do, you love my pictures.

That would be Bubba and bubbas.  I love my boys.  They're my favorite two boys in the world.  I'm glad they love each other.  If not, it would be uncomfortable when I have them in the same house.  Bubba loves being an uncle.  Boy best be as good an uncle to his human nieces and nephews if and when they decide to come into the world.

Yep this is what my Friday night consisted of.  Plus a crazy Ihop trip.  It was a blast.  Can't wait to get to do this more often!!

Get to go try out my new Frolfing disc tomorrow that Matt bought me.  I'm super excited.  I love disc golf.  I've even made contacts in the sport!!  Super cool huh?  Yeah I thought so too.

What did you do this weekend???

Harry Potter puppy?

A couple weeks ago, I left town to see the folks. I come back to a dog with a gash on his head.  No clue how it happened and the roommates hadn't seen it until I did.

I'm not worried.  As you can see, its healing up.  Bubbas is gonna have a scar though.  It looks like Harry's scar oddly enough.  In such a nerd lol.

Maybe he'll get a letter to Hogwarts for dogs soon!!!  Maybe not, he is a little... well... dumb... but I love him anyway.

Happy Friday!!!

Love!!
